Chuck Bush, President
I am a retired AF Medic and I've been building scale models, on and off, for over 50 years. As a kid I built cars, then in the AF I moved on to aircraft, then became interested in armor modeling. Today, I build anything that interests me. I am also a member of the IPMS Reviewer Corps. My website is at http://www.chuckbush.com

I have been scale modeling on and off for more than 50 years. Modeling is my main hobby since retiring in 2004 from teaching commercial art at a community college. I am an all-subject scale modeler, building military aircraft, auto, fantasy, dioramas and military miniatures. What I model is not as important to me as how well I do it.
In 2005, I showed at the World Model Exposition in Boston. In 2009, I placed second in the naval diorama category at the2009 IPMS national contest. This April, my 1/35 Centaur MKIV British tank was published in FSM’s Great Scale Modeling “The Year’s Best Models.”
Other hobbies include target shooting, woodcarving, fishing and stained glass. My wife and I are active world travelers, and we enjoy road trips in North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota.

I've been building off & on my whole life. Mostly airplanes and stuff as a kid, then as a teen turned to autos. Like most of us (so it seems) life took over and I returned to the hobby again 8 years ago after a 15 year hiatus. My primary interest in modeling is automotive subjects. I also enjoy building sci-fi subjects - Warhammer 40k and DUST models mainly - along with the occasional diorama. My most recent endeavor is combining my airbrush art techniques to figure painting in the form of "paint what you see, not what you know."
Modeling to my credit - I was published in the Jan/Feb 2010 issue of the IPMS Journal with a full article/tutorial on a rusting technique I used on a '50 Chevy pickup to tell a story. I've built a monster truck for Hawk/Lindberg models for display at the iHobby Expo in Chicago 2008. I have also begun doing commissioned work for people in the form of repainting diecast cars to replicate owner's actual cars, painting gaming pieces for area table-top gamers, building models to replicate owner's actual cars, and lastly airbrush painting goalie helmets, bike helmets, etc. Lastly, I don't win at model contests very often, or at all. However, I truly enjoy entering model contests for the pleasure to see another modeler's work in person. My models and projects can be seen on my website - http://www.freewebs.com/mhoekstra email: firstname.lastname@example.org
